The Environmental Impact of the Use of Cement & Epoxy Terrazzo
In recent years the construction industry has begun to focus on the environmental impact of many construction materials. The evaluation
of products in the “green movement” encompasses many elements, which must be weighed on a scale of relative importance. These elements include the longevity of the material, the composition, maintenance, recycled content, embodied energy, and the “cradle-to-grave” environmental impact.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Compliance:
Summary of Recycled Content for
T&M Glass Chip Collection
In an effort to decrease the impacts resulting from extraction and processing of virgin materials, T&M offers a variety of recycled glass chips to be incorporated into a terrazzo flooring mix.
Summary of VOC Content for
Terroxy Resin Systems
In an effort to improve the indoor air quality, a number of states have established guidelines relative to the
volatile organic compound (VOC) content and emissions of building materials. Offering building materials that
include low-levels of VOC content is a practice Terrazzo & Marble Supply T&M applies to the majority of
products we offer.
Location of Manufacturing for
Terroxy Resin Systems
In an effort to reduce the environmental impacts resulting from transportation of building materials cross
the country, T&M offers a centrally located manufacturing facility for the
Terroxy® Resin Systems products to be included into a terrazzo flooring mix.
Location of Quarrying & Final Crushing for Marble Chips
In an effort to reduce the environmental impacts resulting from transportation of building materials across
the country, T&M offers a variety of regional marble chips to be incorporated into
a terrazzo flooring mix. Below is a summary of the marble chips offered by T&M.
