Marble

Marble is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone is transformed by heat and pressure, resulting in recrystallized calcite or dolomite with the soft, veined look prized in architecture and design. It’s softer and more porous than granite or quartzite (3–5 on the Mohs scale), which gives it that classic polished elegance. It does require care around acidic foods, moisture, and heavy use. Marble is best suited to bathrooms, fireplaces, accent walls, and lower-traffic countertop applications where its distinctive veining can take center stage.
