Quartzite

Quartzite is a metamorphic rock formed when quartz-rich sandstone is altered by heat, pressure, and chemical activity. Because they are formed from sandstone, most quartzites have a fine-grained, soft, and elegant appearance. While most selections are white and grey tones, we have a broad selection from the color selection from blues, greens, purples, reds, and more. Quartzite is highly scratch and acid resistant, so it will not etch. The hardness level can vary greatly; we recommend the material be sealed per your contractor’s direction. Acid resistance plus a luxe finish make quartzite a popular option for natural stone countertops for the kitchen or bathroom, vanities, bars, and backsplashes.
