In years past, the popular choice for tile has always been Marble and Granite, continually leaving Porcelain in the dark. However, in today’s world, the sun is beaming down and the spotlight has never shined brighter on this wonderful Porcelain tile. More fashionable than ever, we have watched this “ugly” duckling grow up to be the most beautiful swan of all!
The most popular Porcelain tiles are those that mimic the organic beauty found in natural stone. The Marmoker Series is just our latest addition to the Casalgrande Collection. Simply put, this tile is elegantly crafted to resemble the true beauty found in the ever so popular marble stone.
The advantage of Porcelain tile is it’s extreme durability coupled with very low maintenance care. You don’t have to worry about staining or scratching due to the fact that this tile is not as soft or porous as natural stone. With Porcelain tile you get the best of both worlds!
With the capability to be used on both flooring and wall coverings, we are proud to announce that we are stocking 7 different colors, one of which you’re sure to fall in love with, that are available in 12″x 24” tiles with your choice of a polished or matte finish.
It gives me great pleasure to share with you some very exciting news regarding Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies. On February 1st, 2016 T&M officially became 100% employee owned, providing us the framework of success for generations to come. Our transition to 100% ESOP is just the latest chapter in our remarkable story that began over 75 years ago. Our ESOP journey began in 1997 when I was investigating ways to ensure my mother a stable future in her advancing age. I saw this plan as a unique long term option for my family’s legacy by offering a 30% share of T&M’s stock to our employees. My vision was to join the ranks of many other great companies that shared the same goal of one day becoming 100% employee owned.
The most common question asked over the past two weeks has been – What does this mean for Jody Rotondo? It’s an honor to say that I will be performing the same duties as I have in the past, to help guide an already experienced management team into new and exciting directions, while maintaining our same principles that got us to where we are today. My passion in life is to make this company stronger every day and to provide the best products and customer service the industry has to offer. It brings me great comfort knowing that the company I grew up loving is in the very best hands, our wonderful employee owners.
I would like to take this opportunity to mention that this day could not be made possible without the likes of some great individuals, which I truly feel built the foundation of this wonderful company. I would like to give praise to those of: Joe Neitlich, Bill Byers, Jerry Beckley, Willie Schneider and most of all, my father John Rotondo, who taught me to always strive to be the best you can be for yourself and our company.
In closing, our employee owners would like to welcome any questions you may have as we strive together to make this company and community stronger each and every day. Thank you for everything you have done to make T&M the company we are today and most importantly, thank you in advance for all the support in our exciting new future.
Best Personal Regards,
Jody Rotondo CEO & Chairman of the Board Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies
White Marble & Quartz ended the year with a bang, just like we predicted! Each year we like to look back on our best sellers and also the most popular and in demand stones the industry has to offer!
With a wide variety of choices that today’s homeowners have, picking out a kitchen or bathroom counter top/backsplash is no easy task. This is a process and not always an easy one. People’s minds constantly change, and our hold lists are always being updated, until finally there’s a match made in heaven!
Introducing our Show-Stoppers of 2015!
Viareggio has not only been the best seller but the most requested stone of the year. Made for lovers of the “white marble look”, but with the strength of Quartz!
The clean and crisp look of Pearl was an eye catcher this year, and we can see exactly why. This versatile Quartz can make a strong statement all on its own or be used to balance a busy decor.
We are not at all surprised that Bianca Perla made the list. The natural character and soft veining found in this Quartzite can easily suit any design style, from traditional to modern.
Iceberg Quartzite Extra can literally light up any room! This translucent Quartzite can be back lit in both a Polished & Satin finish.
Crestola, the copy cat of our luxurious Calacatta Borghini Extra! (and to the naked eye can easily pass as one, shhh!)
Imperial Danby Extra made the list not only for it’s beauty but durability as well. The absorption rate found in this marble is low, decreasing the risk of stains.
There are plenty of reasons why Super White Extra is so popular – the bold veining and unique character found in each slab is mesmerizing.

Introduced nearly three decades ago, quartz is kind of like a fine wine if you truly think about it, “only gets finer with time.” OK! We really couldn’t resist making that comment…..because it’s true!
When first introduced to the market, quartz was known for its durability, but now it’s more recognized for its chameleon like ability to mimic the natural beauty of Marble, Granite and/or Limestone. Many will argue that nothing can imitate natural stone (and they are right) yet we have to say that Quartz comes pretty darn close.

What is Quartz?
Quartz is a man made engineered stone comprised of quartz, granite and/or recycled glass that’s held together with a pigmented binder. It’s nonporous, meaning it’s highly stain, heat and scratch resistant. There is no need to seal it or use special cleaners, soap and water will simply do the trick. In simpler words, Quartz is super low maintenance and basically indestructible, just what today’s busy homeowners are looking for.

Find the right Quartz for you!
Since individual tastes vary significantly, so do your Quartz options. Whether your personal style is traditional, modern, industrial chic or transitional there is a right Quartz out there for you. While Natural Stone is limited to Earth’s natural color pallet, Quartz is not. With Quartz, you can go as white and neutral as you like OR as bright and funky as your feeling.

And for all you “germaphobes” out there, since Quartz isn’t porous like other stone surfaces, it’s much more sanitary, you are able to kill 99.9% of all bacteria.

Finishes do matter!
Did you know that Diresco Belgian Quartz, which is exclusive in the Midwest to T&M, offers Quartz in 3 finishes, Velvet, Anticato and Polished ? I mean that is huge, adding a different finish to your countertop or backsplash can transform the feel of the entire look.
Velvet: Velvet surfaces provide a matte or non-reflective finish that is much softer to the eye and touch. The luxurious look and feel of our velvet finish evokes a relaxed and natural feel.
Polished: Polished surfaces provide a radiant finish with an impeccable linear reflection that presents a depth and sophistication to the material.Due to our use of optical grade silica sand, our polished surfaces provide an unmatched brilliance.
Anticato: Anticato surfaces provide a slightly textured finish for individuals wanting a non-uniform surface. Anticato is a muted textured finish that will provide an additional characteristic to your design space.
So now not only do you know everything that you need to about Quartz, you are the biggest fan ever, right!?!
There is a first time for everything! Pantone just announced not one but two shades, Rose Quartz & Serenity, as the 2016 Color of the Year. This harmonious duo came as a happy surprise. It is not like anyone expected the pairing of two opposites, a warm dusty pink and a cool blue.
The inspiration came from the ever changing and chaotic times that we now live in; consumers seek harmony and mindfulness which can be found in color.
Rose Quartz (Pantone 13-1520) is a “persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.”
Serenity (Pantone 15-3919) is “weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”
Expect to see this harmonious duo across high fashion, home interiors, accessories and design throughout the year. Independently or coupled together, Rose Quarts & Serenity will bring a sense of calmness and relaxation to any home environment.
