USD Loma Hall – San Diego, CA
The 3,275 square foot design University of San Diego Loma Hall features 3,275 square foot terrazzo design inspired by the architectural geometric patterns from the 16th century Spanish Renaissance era. Its mathematical precision and intricacy implement a harmonious balance of art and science. The geometric pattern is the focal point of the design, creating a clear hierarchy of spaces in contrast with the more subdued areas. Bands of color reinforce the delineation of space where walls are movable, and the floor pattern is reflected and enhanced by the intricate woodwork on the ceiling.
