Terrazzo & Marble Rebranding

Dear Valued Customers,

Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies is proud to announce the launch of our new company logo. Our business has grown and evolved over the past 75 years, and as we just became 100% employee owned, we felt it was time for a change. This logo shift represents a commitment to our brands ongoing evolution.

We are proud of our rich history, which is why we incorporated a shade of our “teal” for coloring. Our teal represents all the sweat equity that has been put into this company from day one which makes us who we are today. We added some diamond faced lines that represent images of stone slabs and also to reflect on our architectural value that each of our stone and terrazzo divisions represent on the many elaborate projects that have been facilitated.

This wasn’t a decision that was made lightly. There were months of hard work and input that was taken into consideration from everyone here at Terrazzo & Marble. The main goal was to have a logo that matched our products, our culture and the exciting future ahead of us. Additionally, this logo is a commitment to our customers and community that we are devoted to delivering the best products and services the industry has to offer.

In the upcoming months we have to update all of our marketing literature, online presence, material, etc with the new logo. We are aware that changing a logo is a process that can involve many steps and take some time, so we will finalize everything gradually. We appreciate your kind support and invite you to follow Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies on our social media sites for updates and future announcements.

Regards,

The Floor As Your Canvas – Joe Fresh Clothing

Architect: Callison Architects
Interior Designer: Burdiflex – Toronto Ontario
Terrazzo Contractor: D. Magnan & Co, Inc. – New York, NY
Terrazzo Resin Supplier: Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies

Design Notes: Shopping never looked so sleek! The Joe Fresh store on 5th Avenue blends classic white terrazzo with clean lines, allowing the bright colors of the clothes to be showcased as shoppers browse for their next purchase. The floor never competes with the main feature – the clothes – but rather performs its purpose by providing a perfect complement to the vivid modern tones. This is a great example of terrazzo in retail use, and yet another flawless floor by D. Magnan & Co.
With terrazzo, the possibilities are endless. Let the floor be your canvas and bring terrazzo into your next project by contacting your Architectural Sales Consultant for assistance at 800.7.MARBLE or visit www.tmsupply.com.

The Floor As Your Canvas – Sambil Santo Domingo

Architect: David Gabay
Terrazzo Contractor: Garcia Smester – Dominican Republic
Terrazzo Resin Supplier: Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies
(Terroxy® Resin Systems)

Design Notes: The first Sambil Mall was built in 1998 in Caracas, Venezuela using cement terrazzo for its decorative floors in the corridors and walking areas. The Sambil group continued to use that flooring system in seven additional malls they constructed leading up to the construction of the Santo Domingo Mall. In 2010 they began construction on the Sambil Mall Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, the biggest Mall of the Caribbean.  With this new project they wanted higher design with brighter colors. Unfortunately with the limitations of cement terrazzo they were not able to achieve some of the bright colors the architect wanted to include. So they made the decision to switch to epoxy terrazzo for the common areas and aisles.

While researching for an experienced epoxy terrazzo contractor they located Garcia Smester, who had previously been successful on two large epoxy terrazzo projects for commercial centers in the Dominican Republic. The architect was very comfortable with Garcia Smester’s installation history and assigned this Sambil Mall project to them. Upon completion the owners & architects were extremely satisfied with the transition to epoxy terrazzo and their new mall which continues to be the center piece of the Caribbean.

Design Notes: Talk about a grand entrance! The stunning geometric design was the perfect choice for both the space and the architecture of the building.  Over 100 hulien green marble tiles are embedded in the floor and surrounded by four subtle neutral terrazzo colors.  The combination of marble, mother-of-pearl and mirror chips accent this intricate yet timeless pattern.  Terrazzo offers an environmentally friendly and extremely durable choice for academic settings.
